Apprentices from the
Quad-Cities Joint Apprentice Training Committee, consisting of UBC
Local 4, Davenport, IA; Local 166, Milan, IL and Local 678, Dubuque,
IA, will showcase their skills as they compete against each other in
the May 17 annual Union
Carpenters Apprentice Contest |

The
competition will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the
Carpenter Training Center, 479 27th St. in East Moline, IL.
The event is free and open to the public. |

Fourth-year New Jersey apprentices will faceoff
against one another in the Union Carpenter Apprentice Skills
Competition '08 on Saturday June 14th from 9:00am -
5:00pm at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The
event will also feature construction industry exhibits with the
latest in construction technology, tools, materials and services in
addition to technical lectures on the installation of ceilings,
flooring, metal studs and more.
Pre-registration is strongly recommended. It includes
admission, complimentary lunch, seminars and a chance to win a
one-night stay at Harrah's. |

Carpenters Local 306 will be holding informational meetings open
to all carpenters regardless of their Union affiliation at Spooky’s
Pizza, 3320 W. Sixth St., The Dalles, Oregon, on the second
Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
The purpose is to discuss job opportunities and issues pertaining to
apprenticeship and training. |

effect for the 46 Northern California Counties. |
